The ‘20, 30, 40 rule’

We follow as far as practicable the ‘20, 30, 40 rule’, formulated as a way to highlight an exceptionally lean approach to investment portfolio charges and fees.

What is the 20, 30, 40 rule?

The 20 refers to the platform charge (0.20%), the 30 to overall fund charges (0.30%), and the 40 to our all-in average advice fee (0.40%).

That should add up to around 90.

There is some ‘wiggle room’ on the 20 figure (in the right direction!); likewise for the other two numbers (30 and 40), which depend on how the investment portfolio is set up, and other variables.
